Lily Scheckner's Creative Portfolio

 

 

 

Lily Scheckner is a freshman at Yale University serving as the 2025 Youth Poet Laureate of Montgomery County, Maryland. She specializes in creative writing, particularly fiction and poetry, but also loves to experiment with filmmaking. Her writing has been recognized by the Pulitzer Center and the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and published by The Penn Review and The Harvard Advocate. Her short videos and documentaries have been commended by C-SPAN, commissioned by Congressman Jamie Raskin, and screened in Times Square. As a proponent of social justice in her community and an aspiring Political Science-English major, Lily's work is often meant to be viewed through political, queer, and feminist lenses.
